Arch Los Angeles 2 days agoToday, we remember Saint Hedwig. Born in 1228 AD, she, after having married and bearing children, devoted her life in service to God. She tended to the wounded during the Mongol invasion of Silesian lands and helped to facilitate negotiations for peace.

Arch Los Angeles 2 days agoSt. Hedwig was the Duchess of Silesia, (modern day Poland), and after her children were grown, she dedicated her life to serving the poor. She offered her castle as shelter for the homeless and disabled.
