Rejoicing in the selection of Pope Leo XIV, we also pray for him and the whole Catholic Church. Archbishop José Gomez will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving for the New Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV

Arch Los Angeles 4 months agoPope Leo XIV gave his first homily this morning in the #SistineChapel for the Cardinal electors. His homily, given in English and Italian centered around the question from the Gospel of Matthew: “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” (Matthew 16:13).

Arch Los Angeles 4 months agoDuring a press conference this afternoon at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Archbishop José H. Gomez gave a statement and answered questions about Pope Leo XIV.
He was encouraged by the Pope’s first speech and how he spoke about being a “missionary Church, and the need for everyone in the Church to be missionaries…”
