As Minister General of the Franciscan Order, he brought wisdom and unity to his community.

St. Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American saint, was a Mohawk convert to Christianity. Known as the “Lily of the Mohawks,” she lived a life of deep faith, prayer, and devotion despite hardship. She is the patron saint of Indigenous peoples and the environment.
