Dio Portland 4 weeks agoToday, we celebrate the feast day of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini. Mother Cabrini was the founder of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In 1889, Pope Leo XIII sent her and her religious sisters to New York City to attend to the many Italian immigrants suffering from poverty.

We think we spotted St. Francis, St. Joseph, St. Juan Diego, St. Lucia, St. Nicholas, St. Patrick, St. Peter, and the Blessed Mother, among many others. Jim Morrison Memorial Narthex at St. Gregory the Great Church in Gray on Monday, November 17 at 5:30 p.m. His Excellency, Bishop James T. Dio Portland 6 weeks agoToday, we honor all saints, known and unknown. All Saints’ Day is a very special day in our liturgical year; on this day, we celebrate the Mass of All Saints, which invokes the communion of the faithful in heaven and here on earth.
May all the saints in heaven pray for us, that we may join them in full communion with God.
