On Friday morning, our Diocesan Pilgrims who are currently in Italy celebrated Mass at the Tomb of Saint Francis in Assisi. Many of them captured amazing photos of the Assisi countryside as well.

The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis’ Office for the Mission of Catholic Education has asked people to pray the rosary today at 11 a.m. Eastern time (10 a.m. CT) for those affected by the Aug. 27 shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis that killed two schoolchildren and injured 21 others.

This morning, before departing for Assisi, our Diocesan pilgrims celebrated Mass together at the Altar of the Tomb of Saint Peter. Bishop Bambera was the celebrant – and our newest Diocesan priest, Father Andrew McCarroll preached the homily.
The tomb of Saint Peter is located beneath the main altar of the Vatican Basilica.

“We are having an amazing time!”
We are so thankful to all of our Diocesan pilgrims, like Rose Emmett, who are willing to share some of their photos from the Jubilee Year of Hope Pilgrimage that they are currently participating in.
Tomorrow, our nearly 100 pilgrims will leave Rome and travel to Assisi to continue their experience.
