According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (1833) it is to grow in the resolve to have “a habitual and firm disposition to do good.”

Last year on our diocesan Facebook page we promoted the 40 Hours’ Devotion held in both the Beckley Vicariate parishes and at St. Patrick’s Church in Weston. The practice was originally pioneered by St. Anthony Zaccaria, in the early 1500s. We honor his feast day on July 5th.
