Tomorrow is the feast of Our Lady of Angels – a Franciscan feast honoring the small church in Assisi, Italy, called “La Porziuncola,” or “little portion,” one of the chapels that St. Francis personally rebuilt in obedience to God’s command to “Rebuild My Church.” It later became the first motherhouse for the Franciscan order and where St. Francis died.
San Franciscans have a special opportunity to obtain a Plenary Indulgence tomorrow by going to the National Shrine of St. Francis and praying inside the replica of the Porziuncola chapel there thanks to the Knights of St. Francis.
