Good afternoon brothers and sisters,
We hope that you are as excited about celebrating our 25th Anniversary of the Diocese as we are! As you know, we will gather at Sames Auto Arena on August 9 for a Mass of Thanksgiving celebrated by Most Rev. James A. Tamayo, our bishop. Below is some useful information to aid your parish in joining us for this historic event.The Arena has been divided into four sections randomly assigned to each deanery. Each deanery has been assigned sections of the Arena (see below). Signage will be placed throughout the arena with this information. If you have any questions please feel free to ask our volunteers for any help.
Please note that sections have not been assigned for parishes individually. You may elect to sit together as a parish, but you would have to coordinate that. Please do not reserve more seats than you need since the event is not ticketed and meant to be on a “first-come” basis. You may decide to try to get a rough head count of your parishioners that you anticipate you will have present. This is merely a recommendation and not required.
There will be a section on the floor for those for whom stairs are a genuine difficulty. Please leave these seats for those that really need them.
While the Mass begins promptly at 10:00am, a program of videos, interviews, music, etc. will begin shortly after doors open at 8:30am. Please invite your parishioners to arrive with ample time since finding your seats may take a little longer than expected.
The Mass is expected to last until 12 Noon.
A commemorative plate celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Diocese of Laredo will be available for purchase on the concourse.
