At his General Audience on August 20, Pope Leo XIV urged Catholics to observe Friday, August 22, the Memorial of the Queenship of Mary, as a day of prayer and fasting for peace. “As our world continues to be wounded by wars in the Holy Land, in Ukraine, and in other parts of the world, I invite all the faithful to live the day of August 22 as a day of prayer and fasting, imploring the Lord to grant us peace and justice, and to wipe away the tears of those who suffer because of ongoing armed conflicts,” said the Holy Father.
Let us join Pope Leo and Catholics around the world in praying for peace this Friday. May Mary, the Queen of Peace, lead us by her prayers and maternal love to the Heart of her Son, the Prince of Peace.
