Today, August 22, we celebrate the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, commemorating Mary’s Divine Motherhood and her cooperation in God’s work of redemption. Celebrated the octave after the Solemnity of the Assumption, Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth exercises a maternal intercession, helping us on our earthly pilgrimage and serving as a sign of hope and comfort to the People of God.
