• On September 1, we celebrate the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, a time when Christians are asked to join in prayer for our common home. This year’s theme is “Seeds of peace and hope” (Is 32:14-18). In his message for the day, Pope Leo wrote, “In a world where the most vulnerable of our brothers and sisters are the first to suffer the devastating effects of climate change, deforestation and pollution, care for creation becomes an expression of our faith and humanity.” The World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation marks the beginning of the Season of Creation, which concludes on October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. https://portlanddiocese.org/world-day-prayer-care-creation
