St. Teresa of Kolkata, also known as Mother Teresa, is one of the most well-known saints.
While serving at a school for daughters of the wealthy with the Loreto Sisters of Dublin in Kolkata, she felt God calling her to serve the poor and sick. She left her current order to live among the poor and sick and serve them. During this time, she founded the Missionaries of Charity, who continue her work today.
In 1979, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
Though she privately struggled with her faith for decades, St. Teresa continued her mission of serving God’s people and sharing His love. She was canonized by Pope Francis in 2016. #FeastDay
