Today, we remember the lives lost and those forever changed on September 11, 2001. We honor the courage of first responders, the resilience of families, and the hope that rose from the ashes of tragedy. As people of faith, we pray for peace in our world and healing for those still burdened by grief. May God grant leaders of nations the grace to be instruments of reconciliation. And to each of us, may he give us grace that we may bring healing and reconciliation to our families and our communities.
As Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9).
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
