• An opportunity to gain a better sense of gratitude, respect and pride!
Students at Corpus Christi School in Wheeling, attended a memorial service to pay tribute to PFC Russell Frank McLaughlin, who lost his life nearly 58 years ago serving in Vietnam.
Hearing firsthand stories of McLaughlin highlighted not only his courage, sacrifice and honor, but also reinforced that he was just like them – he had dreams and was so loved by his family and friends.
As McLaughlin’s family, dignitaries, and members of the Honor Guard spoke, the students stood in silence, reflecting on the ultimate sacrifice of this young man – forever representing the honor, selflessness, and courage our nation was founded.
