According to the U.S. bishops’ guidelines, when a solemnity falls on a Saturday, the obligation to attend Mass is lifted. That means this year, since All Saints’ Day falls on Saturday, Nov. 1, attending Mass is encouraged—but not required.
Attending Mass on All Saints’ Day at your parish is an opportunity to honor all the saints in heaven and to pray for the souls who have gone before us, seeking their intercession.
