Fr. Divine Fossoh of Prince of Peace Parish Maine and Jenna Berens of Maine Catholic Cemeteries hosted the teens and families of Prince of Peace Youth Ministry for Vespers on All Souls’ Day.
Fr. Divine offered a brief reflection on praying for the dead, the significance of Purgatory, and the faithful’s call to continual prayer—especially during the month of November. The evening continued with the teens and their families praying the Office of the Dead, followed by the opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
The service was held in the St. Peter’s Cemetery Mausoleum in Lewiston, a fitting and sacred setting for this ancient prayer of the Church, as the faithful gathered to remember, to hope, and to pray for all souls.
