• St. Martin of Tours was a Roman Catholic bishop and one of the most beloved saints in Christian history.⁣

Born in Pannonia (modern-day Hungary), he was the son of a Roman soldier. Drafted into the army at 15, Martin converted to Christianity during his service and became known for his kindness and generosity—most famously sharing his cloak with a freezing beggar.⁣

After leaving the military, Martin dedicated his life to faith, becoming a monk and later the bishop of Tours, France. He worked tirelessly to spread Christianity across Gaul and is considered a founder of Western monasticism. Martin died in 397.⁣

He is the patron saint of France, soldiers, and tailors.St. Martin of Tours, pray for us!
