The O Antiphon for December 18 is O Lord and Ruler (O Adonai). This antiphon recalls God giving the law to His chosen people Israel through Moses as a means of leading them to holiness. Jesus is the new Moses who fulfills Israel’s old Law and continues to lead God’s chosen people, which has now expanded from the 12 tribes of Israel to the Church around the world.
