The Diocese will mark the conclusion of the Jubilee Year of Hope with a special celebration on Sunday, December 28, the Feast of the Holy Family—one year to the day after the Jubilee Year began on the same feast.
All are invited to gather at the Cathedral Church of St. Catharine of Siena in Allentown for an afternoon of prayer, sacred music, and reflection on the life and mission of the local Church.
The celebration will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a choral presentation of Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi, performed by the Cathedral Choir. The musical offering will be interwoven with a Narrative Tour of the Cathedral, highlighting its sacred art and architecture and placing it within the context of diocesan history and mission.
The Sacrament of Penance will be available from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. for those wishing to prepare spiritually for the closing liturgy.
The Jubilee Year of Hope will officially conclude with Mass at 3:00 p.m., celebrated by Bishop Alfred A. Schlert.
