Jesse Tree Day 19 || Mary’s purity flows from her Immaculate Conception, and every choice was made from her love of God.
The lily is a symbol of purity, specifically the purity of Mary that was central to every choice she made throughout her life. Immaculately conceived, Mary was pure from birth as Jesus chose her to be his first “tabernacle.” We too have the ability to be tabernacles of our Lord — when we receive him in our hearts on Christmas but also when we receive him in the Eucharist at each Mass.
As we ready our hearts for Jesus’ coming, ask Jesus to purify your heart — allow him to root out any sins or habits that are unpleasant to him so as to be a pure dwelling place for him.
