Jesse Tree Day 20 || Just as Mary magnifies the Lord, we can use our words and actions to make Christ visible to others.
Mary’s magnificat is not something of self-importance, rather she recognizes her role of magnifying God alone. The foundation of her faith, and her being chosen to bring God into the world, is her deep humility. She understands her own insignificance and her role is to bring Jesus to those around her, starting with St. Elizabeth. We need to have that same humility of Mary — putting ourselves aside and allowing God to use our lives to bring Jesus to those around us. We each are sent out, just as Mary is, to use our words and actions to make Christ visible to others.
Is there an area of your life where it’s hard to live out your faith — to put yourself aside and allow God to work through you? In these final days before Christmas, take time in front of the Blessed Sacrament, asking God to help you embrace humility.
