“Berks Catholic High School students who had attended elementary schools like Holy Guardian Angels, St. Ignatius, Sacred Heart, St. Peter’s, LaSalle Academy, all solemnly entered the auditorium Tuesday morning to pray the Rosary for Pope Francis as they returned from the Easter spring break, saddened by the news of his passing Monday morning at age 88 in Rome.
Many of them started school at the beginning of Pope Francis’ tenure in 2013.
Students carried with them memories of his photograph beaming down upon them from classroom walls and passing life-sized cardboard cutouts of the pontiff as they walked through the hallways of their schools.”
