Join us in praying a novena for the coming conclave!
A conclave (from the Latin for “with key”) is the process by which the college of Cardinal-Electors (Cardinals who are younger than 80 years old at the time of a pope’s death or resignation) gather in the Sistine Chapel to prayerfully elect the next pope. The conclave starts within 20 days of the Chair of Peter becoming vacant and continues until a new pope is chosen by two-thirds majority.
As the Cardinal-Electors prepare to gather for the next papal election, let us pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon them and upon the whole Church. We will post the novena prayer each day from tomorrow (April 26, the day of Pope Francis’ funeral) until Sunday, May 4.
