Sister Chiara Marie of Jesus, P.C.C. took her Solemn Vows this morning, her final profession to the Poor Clares. These vows are a promise to poverty, chastity, obedience, and enclosure.
The cloistered community follows the example of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare.
Bishop Knestout was the primary celebrant of the Mass, held at Bethlehem Monastery of the Poor Clares, Barhamsville.
Sr. Chiara began her discernment in 2008; she was heavily involved in campus ministry in college and became involved with youth and young adult ministry after graduating.
After visiting several religious communities, she felt God was calling her to the Poor Clares.
