Today, Jesus asks Peter a simple but necessary question.
“Do you love me?” (John 21:16).He asks the same of us, too — here and now.
Do we love him?
How do we love him?
Is there something we’re keeping back from him?Our Lord does not ask this to test us.
He asks to draw us into deeper and deeper relationship with him.Jesus yearns to open our hearts to the abundance of love he has for us — and to equip us, as he equipped Peter, for the mission to which he’s called us.
