Today the universal church celebrates the great feast of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descends upon the Apostles and Mary giving them the courage to proclaim the Good News of Jesus throughout the world. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit will inspire us to be missionary disciples and witness the love and mercy of Jesus in all aspects of our lives! Let us pray too for the hundreds of men and women that will be confirmed on Sunday at St. Louis Cathedral during the Adult Confirmation.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray.
O God, who have taught the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit,
grant that in the same Spirit we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in his consolation.
