The annual social gathering for deacons, deacon wives, widows, and deacon candidates took place last night at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven.
As part of the evening, Deacon Jim McCormack, Director of the Permanent Diaconate of the Archdiocese of Hartford, recognized the 3 deacons and 11 deacon wives that have passed in the past year. May their souls rest in peace. He then recognized the significant deacon ordination anniversaries between 5 and 50 years, of which there were 28.
Archbishop Christopher Coyne followed with words of gratitude and appreciation for all the wonderful work that deacons do in the various ministries in which they take part in, along with the sacrifices the wives and families make to allow the deacons to do their vital and important ministry.
