“EVENT CENTER WILL BE OPEN ALL DAY: The Bee Hółdzil Fighting Scouts Events Center in Fort Defiance is the official evacuation shelter for families. Donations can be dropped off there.
DONATIONS ARE STILL BEING ACCEPTED.
A temporary Incident Command Center has been established at the Bee Hółdzil Fighting Scouts Events Center in Fort Defiance. The Window Rock Fighting Scouts Events Center is now the primary emergency evacuation shelter for residents evacuating due to the fire. The facility is equipped with showers and locker rooms. The Navajo Nation Office of the President staff, Executive Branch, and Window Rock Unified School District Staff are all on site to provide resources and support.
* Ziplock bags are now needed to distribute cat/dog food
* Hair brushes/hair ties
* Feminine hygiene products (pads/tampons/wipes)
* Toothpaste
* Plates, forks, utensils, bowls, spoons, forks, napkins / cups / gloves
* Blankets, cots
* Shampoo/ toothbrush / towels/ lotion/ soap, Toilet paper
* Prepared food is needed
* Snacks (cookies, fruit cups)
* Diapers/ wipes/formula
• Donations can be dropped off at the Bee Hółdzil Fighting Scouts Events Center in Fort Defiance.
• McKinley Humane Society in Gallup is providing cat and dog food.”
