During the Jubilee Year 2025, themed “Pilgrims of Hope,” there are four pilgrimage sites in the Diocese of Steubenville: the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, Marietta; St. Benedict Church, Cambridge; St. Joseph Church, Ironton; and Father of Mercy Chapel (located at the Franciscan Sisters Third Order Regular of Penance of the Sorrowful Mother’s motherhouse), Toronto.
As Bishop Edward M. Lohse announced during the opening Mass Dec. 29, 2024: “During this Holy Year, and through the usual means – confession of sins, reception of Holy Communion, and prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father – you can obtain a plenary indulgence for yourself or for someone who is deceased.”
