On Sunday, Father Evan Ponton welcomed the parishioners of a newly unified parish — St. Vincent de Paul Church and Saint Leo’s Catholic Church — as their new pastor. He said being called to serve the harbor at two historic churches makes him “feel like the luckiest priest in the world.”
“My name is Father Evan Ponton. I’m here to love God, to be your shepherd and to love you, and to make disciples.
“Over the last two months or so, I’ve been asked many times to share my vision for our new parish. But I believe before we can see a vision, we must first unsee fear.”
