St. Kateri Tekakwitha was born into the Mohawk tribe in New York and lost her family to smallpox at only four years old.
As a young adult, St. Kateri joined a Jesuit settlement in Montreal. From then on, she devoted the final three years of her life to prayer and works of chariot.
She was canonized in 2012 as the first Native American saint. #FeastDay
