• Today, we honor St. Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American saint.

Kateri’s life was a testament to the transformative power of God’s grace. In the face of loss and suffering, she chose to love Christ courageously, embracing a path of deep devotion and selfless love for all.

St. Kateri teaches us that no matter our struggles,
God’s grace is enough to transform our lives and hearts!

Let us pray for the courage to follow her example and live with faith and love, especially in the face of adversity.

      A prayer to Saint Kateri:
You followed Christ with a quiet courage.
You walked through forests and snow,
seeking to love Him with your whole heart.

Teach us to be brave in small ways —
to show kindness when it’s hard,
to choose prayer when we feel alone,
to stay close to Jesus no matter the cost.

      You found God in nature,
      in stillness, and in sacrifice.
Help us do the same in the busy world around us.

      Saint Kateri,
      your last words were
      “Jesus, I love you.”
May they become ours every day.

      Pray for us,
that we may follow your path:
      simple, faithful,
      and full of love.
      Amen.
