• In the latest “Sunday Word” column by Father Alfredo Hernández, rector/president of St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary and a Diocese of Palm Beach priest, talks about the need of priests to model the good Samaritan:

      Priests show us Christ

      “Christ Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” St. Paul’s Letter to the Colossians presents us this beautiful hymn that begins by saying that Jesus Christ allows us to see God the Father, that he is the “image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” That truth about Jesus has deep meaning for us. If he is the “firstborn of all creation,” that means that we could all be said to be his younger brothers and sisters. We know that in baptism all Christians are incorporated into Christ, so we too, who are already created in the image and likeness of God, are by baptism given the capacity to be “another Christ,” so that we can bring Jesus to the world.
