In mid-July, the Solanus Casey Center installed a new statue in its garden space depicting “Sister Death,” from St. Francis of Assisi’s famous Canticle of Creation, a work of the late Capuchin Bro. Michael Gaffney.
Bro. Gaffney, who died in 2023, created the bronze-cast statue in 2007 in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Capuchin order in the United States.
