As we mark two years since the start of our Into the Deep process, a reminder of why we set out on this journey can help put the process into perspective. Before the process started two years ago, we worked with PartnersEdge LLC, who helped us to gather and analyze various data sets, including demographic data, parish and school data, financial and giving data, sacramental and priest data, historical data, and more, to help paint a picture of where our diocese stands and where we are heading. This data led to the creation of a Current Reality Report, which spelled out with great clarity and insight the current reality in the Diocese of Madison. Eight key findings were presented in the report, which can be reviewed in the July 3, 2025 edition of the Catholic Herald (page 5), or at intothedeepmadison.org/current-reality.
