Isaiah 40:31: “Those who hope in the Lord will be strengthened and will be able to run and walk without growing weary.”
Visit the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans, the bishop’s church, where the cathedra (the bishop’s chair) resides. In the sanctuary, you’ll find the Processional Cross, that was carried first during the Papal Mass with Pope St. John Paul II in 1987 in New Orleans and most recently during the opening Mass for the Jubilee. This cross will remain at the cathedral throughout the Jubilee year 2025, offering a meaningful connection to the past and the theme of Pilgrims of Hope lifting up The Shreveport Martyrs.
