Our Pilgrims of Hope embarked on a profound spiritual journey to the sacred town of Assisi, walking in the footsteps of saints whose lives were dedicated to Christ and the service of the poor. With hearts open to grace, they visited the revered church where St. Francis of Assisi, the beloved patron of the poor and creation, took his final breath, surrendering his soul to God in perfect humility. They then paid homage at the grand Basilica of St. Francis, where his sacred remains rest—a place of deep prayer and inspiration for the faithful.
Their pilgrimage continued to the Church of St. Clare, where they reflected on the life of St. Clare of Assisi, a devoted follower of St. Francis who founded the Order of Poor Clares. With unwavering faith, she embraced a life of poverty, prayer, and love for Christ until her holy passing.
Finally, the pilgrims visited both churches that enshrine the remains of Blessed Carlo Acutis, a modern witness to holiness in the digital age. Known for his deep devotion to the Eucharist and his tireless work in spreading the Gospel, Blessed Carlo will soon be canonized, offering the Church a new saint for our times.
