Dio AllentownWe are about to enter Holy Week, the most sacred time of the entire year. Have you ever thought about WHY we have liturgical seasons? And what makes next week so sacred anyway? Well, the different liturgical seasons remind us that even time itself should be holy! Everything in our lives, even our schedules, should center around Jesus. Plus, the liturgical year allows us, who live more than 2000 years after Jesus, to participate in Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. Think of next week as your opportunity to be there with Jesus in Jerusalem, on the Cross, and in the tomb. Your life can and should coincide with Christ’s! In our liturgies, we commemorate and truly enter into the one sacrifice of Jesus. And while this is true at every Mass, during Holy Week in particular, we walk with Jesus in a powerful way as our calendar aligns itself to His gift of Himself. What a miracle and blessing!
