Dio PortlandPriests, deacons, religious, and parishioners from around the Diocese of Portland gathered with Bishop James Ruggieri and Bishop Emeritus Robert Deeley for the annual Chrism Mass, one of the most sacred liturgies of the year. During the Mass, members of the presbyterate renewed their priestly promises and the bishop blessed and consecrated the oils that will be used in the sacraments in the coming year: the sacred chrism, the oil of the sick, and the oil of catechumens.
