• “What a beautiful day for all of us as God’s holy people. What a beautiful day for a Chrism Mass,” Bishop Joseph A. Williams said at the beginning of this year’s Chrism Mass held this afternoon at Our Lady of Hope Parish in Blackwood.

With deacons, religious and faithful of the Diocese gathered in pews, priests renewed their commitment to the priesthood, pledging to be “faithful stewards of the mysteries of God…moved by zeal for souls.”

Bishop Williams also consecrated the Oil of the Sick, the Oil of Catechumens and the Sacred Chrism, all which will be used in parishes across the Diocese over the next year.

Referencing this #JubileeYear of Hope, Bishop Williams reminded all that this “is what the Lord wants to give each of us as we enter these sacred mysteries – a renewal of our #hope.”
