• Tonight, we enter into the great mystery of Holy Thursday, the beginning of the Sacred Triduum. In the Upper Room, Jesus gave us two extraordinary gifts – the Eucharist and the priesthood. As He knelt to wash the feet of His disciples, the second person of the Holy Trinity taught us that true power is found in humble service. He calls us not to dominate, but to love — to pour ourselves out for one another.

At the Last Supper, Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it, and said, “This is my body.” In this act, He gave Himself entirely to us, not just symbolically, but truly. Every time we receive the Eucharist, we are drawn into this self-giving love. We become what we receive – Christ’s body in the world.

Let us keep watch with Jesus tonight, remembering His agony in the garden, His loneliness, and His surrender to the Father’s will. May this night deepen our gratitude, renew our hearts, and draw us into the love that leads to the cross, and beyond it, to resurrection.

Reflection questions: How are we washing the feet of others? How are we letting the Eucharist shape our daily lives? Who have we invited into the mystery?
