Church continues to sustain Safe Environments
PALM BEACH GARDENS | Making sure that children and vulnerable adults are kept safe is an essential, ongoing task. Every April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month when the Diocese of Palm Beach highlights its efforts to ensure that parishes, schools and other Catholic entities maintain safe environments.
The diocesan Office of Safe Environments leads the way, carrying the church’s banner of commitment to building a culture of protection and well-being. “The diocese does not tolerate abuse or neglect of anyone,” as the updated diocesan website says. “It will comply with all obligations of civil and canon law; it will promote healing where it is needed, provide education, training and guidance when it is appropriate, and endeavor to prevent any abuse of minors or vulnerable adults with firm justice and mercy towards all.”
