• On Friday, May 9, Bishop Robert Gruss and priests from several of our Catholic schools celebrated the Elementary and Middle Schools Baccalaureate Mass with students graduating from eighth grade or the highest grade offered at their Catholic school. Students and school leadership served the Mass ministries and thanked God for the gift of education.

Following Mass, students and staff enjoyed a luncheon and a Q&A with Bishop Gruss, where he answered student questions and shared his own vocation story.

Bishop Gruss also offered advice for students as they begin the next step of their educational journey: Stay close to Jesus, frequent the sacraments— especially Holy Eucharist and Confession/Reconciliation— pray constantly, and ask the Lord what his plan is for your life.

“You cannot live a passive faith life. Faith is active!” he reminded the students.
