Do you resolve to be united more closely every day to Christ the High Priest, who offered himself for us to the Father as a pure sacrifice, and with him to consecrate yourself to God for the salvation of all? (From the Rite of Ordination to the Priesthood)
A message from Archbishop Henning:
Today, I experienced the blessing of ordaining six men to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ for service to the Archdiocese of Boston. It is a day of rejoicing for the Archdiocese and all those who know these good and faithful men. While each is unique and possesses his own gifts, they are now united to the heart of Christ and to their brother priests in offering the whole of their lives and their selves to give glory to God and healing to God’s people. Join me in praying for these men that the Lord may strengthen and confirm them in their ministry:O Jesus, our great High Priest, hear our humble
prayers on behalf of your priests. Give them a deep
faith, a bright and firm hope, and a burning love
which will ever increase in the course of their priestly lives.
In their loneliness, comfort them; in their sorrows,
strengthen them; in their frustrations, point out
to them that it is through suffering that the soul
is purified. Show them that they are needed
by the Church, they are needed by souls, they
are needed for the work of redemption.#Ordination #Vocations #ArchbishopHenning #BostonCatholic
