Happy Memorial of St. Dominic, founder of the Order of Preachers, better known today as the Dominicans! Dominic de Guzman was inspired to begin a religious order dedicated to preaching for the salvation of souls after encountering many who had fallen into the errors of the Albigensian heresy. Today, the Order of Preachers carries out Dominic’s vision of winning souls through the preaching, teaching, and prayer of priests, religious brothers, active sisters, contemplative nuns, and Dominican laity.
