JOIN US TODAY TO PRAY FOR PEACE!
In response to Pope Leo XIV’s call for a Day of Fasting and Prayer for Peace —especially for an end to the wars in the Holy Land, in Ukraine, and many other regions in the world — the Most Reverend Glen John Provost, Bishop of Lake Charles, will celebrate Mass at 12:05 p.m. today, August 22, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Immediately following the Mass, there will be a time of prayer before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament until 1:00 p.m. to unite with the Holy Father’s intention.
Pope Leo XIV invites all Catholics and those of good will to join him in this special day of fasting and prayer on the Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. May our Blessed Mother, invoked as Queen of Peace, pray for us that our world may experience a time of peace.
