On August 27, we celebrate the Feast of St. Monica, whose fervent prayers and persistence led to the conversion of her son, Augustine, whose feast day we celebrate tomorrow. St. Augustine, who would become Bishop of Hippo, is now recognized as one of the doctors of the Church. Saint Monica is a reminder to us of the need for patience and to never stop praying.
