On August 28, we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Augustine, considered to be one of the Church’s greatest theologians. St. Augustine’s story is one of redemption. At a young age, he lived a partying lifestyle, but through the prayers of his mother, St. Monica, and the preaching of St. Ambrose, the bishop of Milan, he came to embrace Christianity, becoming the bishop of Hippo and one of the Church’s most influential leaders. His teachings and writings are still referenced today. Pope Leo, an Augustinian, took his episcopal motto from one of St. Augustine’s sermons: “In Illo uno unum,” “In the One (Christ), we are one.” https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/saint/st-augustine-573
