Today is the Feast Day of St. Augustine.
Growing up he got to be quite a handful for his mother, St. Monica. His life turned away from faith and all about selfishness, vanity, and carelessness. His mother never gave up hope, because she gave him to God – praying that Christ would be the light to bring him back to the faith. Talk about a success story!
St. Augustine of Hippo is the Patron of Theologians.
