Today we celebrate the Passion of John the Baptist. While his life ended in martyrdom, John led a life of faithfulness to God. “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30)
He is known for preparing the way for the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. John was a bold preacher and evangelist, and he baptized many people in his lifetime. He spoke out against the evils of the world and even challenged leaders and people in high positions to repent and turn to God.
